2021 Junior Camp

Essex went to camp June 28-July 2 and had an outstanding time!

Stay tuned in the spring for information about camp in 2022!

What is 4-H Camp?

4-H Junior Camp is an opportunity for youth to enjoy camp activities at one of Virginia's six 4-H Educational Centers. Campers must be 9 years old by 9/30 of that year and must be no older than 14 as of 12/31 of that year.

Campers rotate through camp classes, free swim, and recreation time each day, as well as evening programs and campfire. Campers are organized into "packs" to foster a sense of belonging and camp spirit. At the end of camp, there are awards for spirit, participation, and demonstrations of good character!

Teens 15 to 18 can also apply to be teen counselors, which is an awesome leadership opportunity for our older youth.

Essex camps with King & Queen, King William, Charles City, and New Kent at Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, right beside the historic Jamestown settlement and right along the James River.
